Hampden Medical Center has been CAUTI-free for over 24 months since March 2024

The most common type of Healthcare-Associated Infection is the Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI), which accounts for more than 30% of infections reported by all acute care hospitals. Hampden Medical Center nurses and the Quality and Safety team collaborated to manage this problem through intensive patient monitoring. 

Hampden Medical Center has been CLABSI-free on all units for 24 months since May 2024

Central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI) are a serious type of healthcare-associated infection that occurs when germs enter the bloodstream through a central line. CLABSIs account for approximately 11% of all infections reported by acute care hospitals. Hampden Medical Center teams focus on prevention through standardized practices and ongoing monitoring to support patient safety.
