We’re Creating a Better, More Connected Care Experience For You
In October 2026, Penn State Health will transition to Epic, the nation’s leading and most widely used electronic health record system. Epic will allow all your doctors, nurses and care teams to work from the same up-to-date medical record, helping us provide more coordinated and more convenient care.
What This Means For You
One complete health record
No matter where you receive care within Penn State Health, your care team will have access to the same secure, accurate information.
Easier communication
With MyChart by Penn State Health, you’ll be able to view test results, message your care team, schedule appointments and request prescription refills — all from your phone or computer. You can also check in for appointments using MyChart.
Simplified billing
MyChart makes it easy to view statements, track balances and pay your bills online — no more waiting for paper statements or logging in to multiple online bill payment platforms
Fewer forms and repeat questions
Your information will follow you across all Penn State Health locations, so you won’t have to repeat your medical history every time.
What to Expect During the Transition
MyChart access: As we approach the MyChart go-live this fall, you'll receive an invitation to set up your MyChart account in the weeks leading up to the launch.
Appointments: You may notice small changes in our check-in or scheduling process as we make the switch. Thank you for your patience while our teams get used to the new system.
Your records: Your existing health information will transfer securely to Epic. You’ll also be able to access your existing patient portal profile for a period of time after we switch to Epic and MyChart, so you’ll have seamless access to all your health records during the transition.
