Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
Our nurse practitioners play a crucial role in delivering exceptional care and surgical support in the OR, Cath Lab and at the bedside. In addition to providing pre and postoperative care, and seeing patients in the clinic, you'll work closely with our surgeons to interpret tests, make referrals and perform complex procedures involving ECMO and IABP.
Physician Assistant – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
The physician assistant is a vital member of the Cardiothoracic Surgery team. They bring their expertise to the operating room, Cath Lab and bedside, ensuring seamless surgical assistance and comprehensive patient care. In the clinic, they diligently see patients, provide pre and postoperative care, interpret tests, and make necessary referrals under the supervision of our surgeons. The physician assistant is proficient in performing complex procedures, including central line and arterial line insertions, troubleshooting Swans and manages ECMO and IABP.
Registered Nurse First Assistant – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
The registered nurse first assistant (RNFA) is pivotal in ensuring the success of complex cardiovascular surgeries within our department. Your primary responsibility lies in providing invaluable support to the surgical team throughout all phases of the procedure. This includes assisting the surgeon during the operation by providing instruments, suturing and maintaining a sterile environment. You'll be relied upon to anticipate the needs of the surgeon, ensuring seamless workflow and optimal patient outcomes. Your expertise in cardiovascular anatomy, endoscopic and open vessel harvesting and surgical techniques will be instrumental in navigating the intricacies of each procedure.
Surgical Technologist – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
The surgical technologist is a key member of our cardiovascular surgical team. You are responsible for prepping the operating room for cardiovascular surgeries and collaborating with other team members, including surgeons and nurses, to troubleshoot equipment or procedural issues. Following each procedure, you will clean and restock the OR.
