Our nurse practitioners play a crucial role in delivering exceptional care and surgical support in the OR, Cath Lab and at the bedside. In addition to providing pre and postoperative care, and seeing patients in the clinic, you'll work closely with our surgeons to interpret tests, make referrals and perform complex procedures involving ECMO and IABP.

The physician assistant is a vital member of the Cardiothoracic Surgery team. They bring their expertise to the operating room, Cath Lab and bedside, ensuring seamless surgical assistance and comprehensive patient care. In the clinic, they diligently see patients, provide pre and postoperative care, interpret tests, and make necessary referrals under the supervision of our surgeons. The physician assistant is proficient in performing complex procedures, including central line and arterial line insertions, troubleshooting Swans and manages ECMO and IABP.

As a cardiovascular operating room registered nurse (CVOR RN), you'll be entrusted to provide comprehensive care for patients throughout their entire cardiovascular surgery journey. The registered nurse first assistant (RNFA) is pivotal in ensuring the success of complex cardiovascular surgeries within our department. This includes assisting the surgeon during the operation by providing instruments, suturing and maintaining a sterile environment.
