What You’ll Do:
- Deliver individual, couples, and group counseling services to students and medical residents
- Provide crisis intervention and short-term counseling to faculty and physicians
- Conduct initial assessments, coordinate care, and ensure comprehensive documentation
- Offer consultation to faculty, staff, and learners in a confidential and ethical manner
- Develop and lead outreach programming on mental health, coping strategies, and interpersonal skills
- Supervise psychology interns, helping to shape the next generation of clinical professionals
- Engage in team meetings focused on planning, strategy, and clinical care initiatives
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The primary purpose of this position is to support the mental health and well-being of students, resident physician, faculty, and physicians within Penn State College of Medicine and Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. The position will provide advocacy, education programming, and access to mental health and well-being sources.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology required.
- Licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to practice clinical services required.
- Two (2) years of experience in the provision of individual and group counseling/psychotherapy to a diverse population, development and implementation of psycho-educational programming, and provision of individual and group counseling to a university student or medical/health provider population required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
- Previous experience working in a college or university counseling center preferred.
