Penn State Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) is seeking candidates at the Associate Professor or higher who have a strong track record of leadership, patient care, research, and education in Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) to lead our dynamic academic program.

Position Details:

  • Lead the Mechanical Circulatory Support program and plan for the strategic growth of this service
  • Be responsible for quality and safety in the MCS program
  • Provide oversight to Advanced Practice Providers and other personnel affiliated with the MCS program
  • Provide oversight to clinical research and education of trainees
  • This position will offer protected time for administrative and leadership duties

The Penn State Heart & Vascular Institute is a 63-physician integrated multi-specialty group that includes Vascular Surgery, Cardiac Surgery, Cardiology, and Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology, which provides comprehensive, cutting-edge heart and vascular care to the residents of central Pennsylvania.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Medical degree - M.D., D.O. or foreign equivalent
  • Board certification in Heart Failure Cardiology or Cardiac Critical Care
  • Eligible for licensure for the practice of medicine in the State of Pennsylvania
  • Experience in leadership in mechanical circulatory support with at least five years of experience
  • Experience and interest in research, including obtaining peer-reviewed funding.
