Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center is seeking a cardiothoracic surgeon to join our growing practice at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, PA. The ideal candidate will have an interest in all facets of the state-of-the-art cardiac surgery, including TAVR. The surgeon joining the team will be part of the Penn State Health Heart and Vascular service line, which provides quality cardiovascular care to patients of Pennsylvania. Program locations include:

  • Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center - Reading, PA
  • Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center - Hershey, PA
  • Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center - Camp Hill, PA
  • Future location: Penn State Health Hospital in Lancaster County, PA

The successful candidate will be based at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center and will be part of a collaborative Heart and Vascular team. If interested, opportunities for clinical research and teaching may be available to the selected candidate. The selected candidate will work closely with experienced cardiology and vascular surgery partners at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center.

Candidates should be ABTS board certified/board eligible and will have completed an ACGME approved surgery residency. Three to five years' experience is preferred, but exceptional junior candidates will be considered.

Job Requirements:

  • Medical degree - M.D., D.O. or foreign equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited fellowship program
  • Eligible for licensure for the practice of medicine in the State of Pennsylvania
  • Board certification/eligibility in CT Surgery
