SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC) Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care and care coordination for pediatric and adult patients with inherited bleeding disorders. Responsibilities include patient assessment, education, triage, infusion and treatment support, coordination of multidisciplinary care, management of specialty therapies, participation in quality improvement initiatives, and collaboration with providers, pharmacies, laboratories, and community resources. The RN serves as a patient advocate and resource, promoting optimal clinical outcomes and continuity of care across the healthcare continuum.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
- AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in hematology, oncology, coagulation disorders, or a related specialty preferred.
- Experience caring for patients with chronic and complex medical conditions.
- Knowledge of inherited bleeding disorders, including hemophilia and von Willebrand disease preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with care coordination, case management, population health management, or transition of care activities.
- Experience providing patient and family education related to chronic disease management and specialty medications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Experience participating in clinical research, registries, quality improvement, or data collection initiatives preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with databases and data management systems, including SQL or similar reporting/database platforms preferred.
- Experience utilizing electronic medical records, preferably Epic.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
