SUMMARY OF POSITION – Hemophilia Treatment Center Staff Nurse (RN)
The Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC) Staff Nurse, RN provides comprehensive, coordinated nursing care to individuals with inherited bleeding disorders across the lifespan. This role is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient-centered care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary HTC team. The nurse serves as a clinical expert and patient advocate, supporting disease management, bleed prevention and treatment, infusion therapy, patient and family education, and care coordination across outpatient, inpatient, and community settings.
The HTC RN develops and implements individualized plans of care that incorporate clinical assessment, treatment adherence, patient education, and transition planning. Responsibilities include detailed documentation of clinical encounters, monitoring patient outcomes, and ensuring continuity of care through close collaboration with hematologists, advanced practice providers, social work, physical therapy, pharmacy, and other healthcare professionals. The nurse also supports quality improvement initiatives, registry reporting, and patient engagement consistent with Hemophilia Treatment Center standards of care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
- AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
