The division currently includes 3 full time Pediatric Orthopaedic surgeons, 3 Advanced Practice Providers, and a Nurse Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity to join a regional referral, tertiary care practice a with a Level 1 Trauma program. Our extensive referral base includes five primary counties in central Pennsylvania, as well as referrals from the extended central Pennsylvania region. This is an academic-style practice with strong subspecialty programs in all aspects of adult and pediatric orthopaedic care.
Our children’s hospital is a 160-bed academic, tertiary-care children's hospital with the highest-level NICU, pediatric trauma, and surgical designations. We host numerous specialized clinics for children, including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, brachial plexus, and complex fetal care. Our children’s hospital tower is also directly connected to Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Central Pennsylvania’s tertiary care facility and adult trauma center. Potential candidates would join a large, nationally acclaimed academic practice with strong subspecialty programs in all aspects of orthopaedic care. Our department supports an ACGME-accredited residency program as well as fellowships in foot and ankle, trauma, sports medicine, and primary care sports medicine. The qualified candidate will be a full-time faculty member of the Penn State Health Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, and hold an academic rank within the Penn State College of Medicine.
What we’re seeking:
- Medical degree – MD, DO, or foreign equivalent
- BE/BC in Orthopaedic Surgery
- Fellowship training in Pediatric Orthopaedic surgery required
- Excellent patient care abilities and interest in teaching as well as participation in clinical research
- Participation in the pediatric orthopaedic trauma call coverage schedule
- There is the possibility for inclusion as a co-surgeon in pediatric spine/complex surgical cases.
