Position Summary

Penn State Health is seeking a dedicated Neonatologist to join our growing Level II NICU at Hampden Medical Center, located just minutes from Harrisburg and the beautiful Hershey region. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative, academic‑based health system committed to high‑quality neonatal care, teaching, and continuous innovation.

The successful candidate will join a team supported by Penn State Health Children’s Hospital’s Level IV NICU, fostering seamless coordination and access to advanced neonatal services.


Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality clinical care in a Level II, 10-bed NICU serving a diverse perinatal population.
  • Attend high-risk deliveries and provide stabilization and ongoing management of premature and ill newborns.
  • Collaborate with neonatology colleagues, pediatric subspecialists, obstetric providers, and nursing teams across the health system.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice development, and systemwide neonatal protocols.
  • Optional opportunities for teaching residents, medical students, and participating in academic or clinical research through Penn State College of Medicine.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
