SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Physician Assistant in Vascular surgery will conduct thorough patient assessments, formulate differential diagnoses, and implement individualized treatment plans in a collaborative surgical practice. Responsibilities include performing minor procedures, interpreting laboratory and imaging results, and providing clear, compassionate patient education. The PA will maintain accurate and timely medical documentation while ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and regulatory requirements. The PA will also provide assistance in the operating room as needed, with expectations balanced alongside clinic responsibilities.
This role requires flexibility and effective time management, as daily workflows may vary depending on surgical schedules and resident availability. We recognize that balancing clinic duties, charting, consults, and operating room support can be complex, and the practice is committed to ongoing workflow evaluation and team communication to support success in the role.
PAs may be asked to provide clinic coverage when a surgeon is called away for an emergency, with the goal of ensuring continuity of patient care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of employment
- National Certification in State of employment or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in the State of employment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
