Oncology Exercise Specialist - Administration

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Oncology Exercise Specialist is an exercise medicine professional who provides individualized, evidence-based exercise services for patients with a current or prior cancer diagnosis. As an allied health professional embedded within an interdisciplinary oncology care team, this position applies exercise physiology principles to assess patients, develop and implement individualized exercise prescriptions, monitor patient progress and response, and modify exercise interventions as clinically appropriate in collaboration with oncology providers as clinically indicated.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Rehabilitation Sciences, or related field. 
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

• ACSM Certified Cancer Exercise Trainer (CET®) and/or ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP®) credentials.
• Minimum of two years of experience delivering exercise interventions to individuals with cancer or other medically complex conditions.
• Experience in oncology, rehabilitation, survivorship, or supportive care settings.
• Knowledge of exercise oncology guidelines and the effects of cancer treatments on physical function and exercise tolerance.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary oncology care team.
• Experience with program development, quality improvement, and clinical outcomes measurement.
