SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Penn State Health St. Joseph Neonatology team is looking for an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a Level II NICU with well-baby and delivery room responsibilities. The Nurse Practitioner will manage and coordinate overnight care for the NICU patients. Following appropriate orientation, the NP is credentialed and works independently and in collaboration with the attending physicians, peers, and other members of the health care team to provide specialty care to critically ill patients. An in-house Respiratory Therapist is available for all deliveries and a backup Neonatologist is available during the night. The average number of deliveries a year is 1000-1500.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Master’s degree in Nursing
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by State of employment
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRP)
  • Two years of experience as an RN is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  • NICU critical care experience
  • Two (2) years of experience within their licensure
  • Neonatology Nurse Practitioner degree
