Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center — a nationally recognized academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center — is seeking a Manager, Patient Logistics to lead the coordination of patient flow and transfer operations across the organization. This role sits at the heart of hospital throughput, ensuring patients move safely, efficiently, and seamlessly through every point of care.

As Manager of Patient Logistics, you will oversee Bed Management and the PSHMC Transfer Center, driving real-time decisions that directly influence patient access, clinical outcomes, and organizational capacity. Your leadership will help ensure the right patient is in the right bed at the right time — every time.
Key Impact Areas
Operational Leadership
- Direct day-to-day patient flow operations across all admission sources
- Oversee timely inpatient bed assignments and placement escalation processes
- Provide rapid response to urgent placement needs and capacity surges
Transfer Center Excellence
- Manage safe, efficient transfers from regional and national referring institutions
- Partner with physicians, nursing, and clinical teams to refine transfer protocols
- Strengthen referral pipelines in collaboration with Marketing & Communications
Throughput Optimization
- Continuously evaluate and enhance patient placement workflows
- Collaborate with physician groups, ancillary services, and operational leaders
- Drive protocol improvements that elevate access, safety, and experience

We’re seeking a dynamic healthcare operations leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at cross-functional collaboration, and brings a data-driven mindset to patient flow and logistics strategy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a Master's Degree in Nursing required.
- Five (5) years related work experience required.
- Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required.
