SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Directly manage the implementation, stabilization, and support of Epic and/or other healthcare applications and teams. Oversees the Epic Nursing and Clinical Informatics Specialists. This role will manage the selection, development, and coaching of the Epic Nursing and Clinical Informatics Specialists. 

Ensure system functionality is designed and delivered to support clinical, business, and information needs. Engage key clinical, financial services and operational stakeholders to align Information Technology resources to support the organization's goals and objectives. Partner with stakeholders to develop, implement, and maintain software solutions to support optimal care delivery and healthcare operations. Provide information technology operational leadership and support for business and clinical functions. Work closely with application managers, IS teams, and operational teams to identify changes required in the current workflow, system design, build, and long-term support. Manage the selection, development, and coaching of team members. The Manager will report to the Director of Clinical Informatics within the Department of Clinical Informatics. The role may require onsite presence to round in clinical setting on a regular basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • BSN degree required 
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing Informatics or Health Information System or related field. 
  • Board certification in informatics from one of the following: The American Board of Medical Specialties, the American Nurse Credentialing Center (RN-BC), or the American Medical Informatics Association (AHIC) or attainment of certification within one year of hire.
  • Minimum of Five (5) years of clinical nursing background. 
  • Demonstrated growth and experience in applied clinical/health informatics. 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a lead or supervisory role or leading health system initiatives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Previous experience managing a Clinical Informatics team. 
  • Previous experience leading an interdisciplinary team among operational, informatics and technical teams for Inpatient, Procedural and ED area. 
  • Epic certification preferred. If not certified, must complete Epic certification as assigned in related application within 6 weeks after last training class.
