SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Manager of Environmental Health is under the supervision of the Director of EHS & Transport and is thoroughly versed in the environmental health practice of a major medical complex. This position is responsible for the overall operation and management of the Environmental Health Services (EHS) program, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental health and safety laws, standards, regulations, and requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, Department of Health, etc.). 

Oversees quality, manages customer satisfaction, budgets and meets other standards set by Senior Leaders. In addition, this position will partner with the leaders from of Infection Control, Nursing, and Safety to develop and drive standard operating procedures, policies, and guidelines to support our mission to deliver high quality care at the lowest possible cost. Leads 1st and 2nd level managers/supervisors responsible for approximately 225 employees and 2.3M cleanable square feet. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Bachelors degree in business, management, or related curriculum is required 
  • (Five) 5 years of experience with a thorough knowledge of environmental services in an advanced healthcare setting is required 
  • Experience in regulatory compliance required (e.g., Joint Commission, DOH). Experience in negotiating contracts, agreements, and partnerships based on financial and operational needs required 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Masters Degree from an accredited college preferred 
  • Seven (7) years of experience with a thorough knowledge of environmental services in an advanced healthcare setting is highly desirable. 
  • CHESP Certification preferred 
  • Experience in a managing workforce covered under a collective bargaining agreement preferred
