SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Our Licensed Practical Nurses provide comprehensive clinical and administrative support to providers in both urology and general surgery settings. patient intake and assessment, and performing specialized clinical duties within scope of practice.

In the urology clinic, LPNs assist with procedures including vasectomies, prostate biopsies, cystoscopies, and suprapubic catheter changes. Additional duties include Foley catheter changes, post-void residual (PVR) measurements, uroflow testing, and point-of-care testing such as urinalysis, urine cultures, and pathology specimen processing.

In the general surgery clinic, LPNs assist with in-office procedures and wound care management.

All LPNs are responsible for managing patient phone messages, supporting the clinic's task pool, processing faxes, and assisting with nurse visits and clinical troubleshooting as needed. LPNs play a key role in ensuring efficient clinic operations while delivering high-quality patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Currently licensed to practice as a licensed practical nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate LPN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required prior to completion of orientation.
