SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN II will provide direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of patients under the direction of a registered nurse of provider. The LPN II will observe, report and record medical information and nursing care provided in the electronic medical record. The LPN II will instruct patients and families according to the teaching plans. The LPN II will communicate with the healthcare team to facilitate the coordination of individualized patient care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Currently licensed to practice as a licensed practical nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate LPN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact or eligible for licensure in state of employment.
- One (1) year of LPN experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required prior to completion of orientation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Strong interpersonal, effective listening, and needs anticipation skills preferred.
- Adequate skills in handling instruments/equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, and supplies preferred.
