SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for providing day-to-day leadership and supervision of the section including the technical, financial, and human resource operations. Also responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance and serving as a liaison to laboratory administration, other hospital services, patients and clients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science/Clinical Laboratory Science or an applicable Health Science Field that contained clinical laboratory rotations as part of the degree requirements.
  • 5 years of Team Lead/Supervisory experience in a laboratory setting is required.
  • An advanced specialty professional certification in the clinical area of interest may substitute for the years of Team Lead Supervisory experience, but a minimum of 3 years of job related experience is required (Non-Team Lead/Supervisor role).
  • A Master’s degree in a Health Science field may substitute for one of the three years of job related experience.
  • An ASCP or other nationally recognized clinical laboratory certification is required
  • Good communication, computer and customer service skills, expert technical knowledge and skills, and knowledge of applicable regulations required 
  • Applicants trained outside of the United States must provide documentation of equivalency evaluation of their education and training to ensure it is equivalent to CLIA requirements. The equivalency evaluations will be performed by a nationally recognized organization. Ex: National Association Credential Evaluations Services, Inc. (NACES), the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE). The applicants is responsible for paying the cost of the equivalency evaluation. 

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Supervisory experience preferred. 
  • Laboratory Certification preferred.
  • Project management skills preferred.
