SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Directs the strategy, growth, and operational objectives of the Neurology & Neuroscience and Neuro Surgery Operations within the organization. Provide daily operational oversight in all areas to include clinical offices, support services, patient care areas and College of Medicine (COM) staff including research labs. This role will collaborate with Neuroscience core departments: Neural and Behavioral Science, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and multidisciplinary centers of excellence (spine, stroke, pain, epilepsy, etc.) across Penn State Health as well as interface and partner with affiliate departments and Faculty. This position requires strong strategic thinking skills, experience applying lean methodologies to improve labor productivity, and solid financial acumen. The position also provides operational oversight for the Penn State Clinical Neurophysiology Lab.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • A master's degree in healthcare administration, finance, health policy, public health, or a related field emphasizing management and accounting. A master's degree in healthcare administration, finance, health policy, public health, or a related field emphasizing management and accounting. 
  • Seven (7) years of related experience required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience in healthcare administration. 
  • Documented successful clinical and/or academic management experience, both operational and fiscal, including prior Profit & Loss responsibilities. 
  • Demonstrated leadership in strategic planning in healthcare management, including resource allocation processes. 
  • Operational understanding of the academic setting and administration, its diverse constituents, and complex healthcare organizational structures.
