Working in the Operating Room and Pediatric Procedural Areas at Hershey Medical Center means being part of a highly specialized, mission-driven environment where no two days are the same.
These service lines encompass pediatric and adult ophthalmologic surgery, complex dental surgical and restorative procedures, and collaborative multidisciplinary procedural care for patients across the lifespan.
You will collaborate closely with anesthesiology, surgeons, proceduralists, and child-life specialists in spaces designed specifically for children — blending clinical precision with compassionate, family-centered care.
As part of a Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center and academic medical center, you will experience complex and rare pediatric cases, advanced surgical and procedural technologies, evidence-based innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration at the highest level.
Role Summary
The Clinical Staff Leader ensures safe, high-quality care delivery and optimal patient outcomes across Pediatric Procedural Areas.
Responsibilities include providing direct clinical care while leading by example, serving as a role model for professional nursing practice, ensuring quality and safety in procedural care delivery, evaluating staffing needs based on acuity and patient volume, partnering with leadership to recommend operational improvements, and supporting team development, engagement, and accountability.
This role blends hands-on clinical expertise with frontline leadership, making it ideal for nurses passionate about mentorship, quality, and pediatric perioperative care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing required
- Two (2) years clinical experience required
- Progressive leadership experience required
- Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
- AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period.
- 2 years’ Operating Room experience preferred
- Ophthalmology experience strongly preferred
- Level 1 trauma center experience preferred
