SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Coordinates and oversees High-Level Disinfection (HLD) activities within the facility. Functions as primary resource for HLD practices and equipment (i.e., Automated Endoscope Reprocessors (AERs), Automated Probe Disinfectors (TD100). Responsible for assisting in HLD projects and process improvement initiatives. Promotes customer service and satisfaction through training, education, and resolution of staff and physician issues and concerns. Must maintain working knowledge of HLD cleaning and processing all instruments and equipment according to the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD), the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA), and other current standards to include facility policy and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Sterile Processing Technician Certification CBSPD/CRCST or Endoscope Reprocessor Certification CER/CFER required.
- Two (2) years of related experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
- Associate's degree in Surgical Technology preferred.
