SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for partnering with the Nurse Manager to assure department operations are carried out. Additional responsibilities include management and development of the unit, including, but not limited to, interviewing, hiring, and supervision of staff, assisting with developing and monitoring of budget, policies and procedures, both new employee orientation and ongoing education of staff, and management of quality improvement programs.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The 30-bed intensive care unit serves patients admitted for emergency general surgery, Level 1 trauma, transplant and surgical services. Specialties include orthopedics, urology, surgical oncology, plastic surgery, colorectal surgery, thoracic surgery and obstetrics/gynecology.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing required 4 years clinical experience required. Progressive leadership experience required Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
