About Me
Emily Burkholder is a women’s health nurse practitioner who has more than 14 years’ experience in evaluating, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic women's health care needs. Prior to joining Penn State Health, Burkholder cared for patients at May-Grant Obstetrics and Gynecology, Lancaster. Her nursing career began at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, where she initially worked with leukemia and lymphoma patients before transferring to the hospital’s labor and delivery unit. An active member of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health, Burkholder earned her master’s degree in nursing at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, Philadelphia. She also completed a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, Va.
