Pediatric/CNS Radiation Oncologist

The Penn State Health Department of Radiation Oncology invites applications for a full-time academic radiation oncologist interested in CNS/pediatric radiotherapy. The successful candidate will hold a faculty appointment at Penn State College of Medicine, and practice within the Penn State Health radiation oncology network with a primary focus at the Penn State Cancer Institute (Hershey, PA). Both physicians and physician-scientists are encouraged to apply.

Physicians in our department work closely with the pediatric oncology team of the Penn State Health Golisano Children's Hospital. In addition, the Children’s Hospital receives avid support from the Penn State Dance Marathon or THON(TM), the world’s largest run student philanthropy, which raised over $18.8 million in 2026. The CNS team is also bolstered by a close collaboration with the nationally recognized Department of Neurosurgery, the only Gamma Knife in the metropolitan area, GammaTile therapy, and a robust clinical trial portfolio.

Our department offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centered cancer care across three thriving practice sites. Our faculty engage in academic activities including teaching, and quality initiatives across both an academic cancer center and regional community-based hospitals including the newly constructed Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center (Enola, PA), and the Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center (Reading, PA).

Responsibilities would include providing comprehensive radiation oncology care and engaging in multidisciplinary cancer care and tumor boards, and participation in research and scholarly activities supported by Penn State Cancer Institute, including both cooperative group and investigator-initiated clinical trials.

Oncology practice sites include the Penn State Cancer Institute at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Penn State Children’s Hospital, Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center, Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, Pennsylvania, and Hampden Medical Center, in Enola, Pa.
