Dedicated Treatment for Stroke Recovery

Stroke rehabilitation is specialized care that helps a person recover from a stroke. The main goals of stroke rehabilitation are to promote healing of the injury, treatment of sequelae, prevention of complications, and patient and family education with the aim of re-integration back into the community.  At Penn State Health, the program is provided by an interdisciplinary team of physicians who specialize in rehabilitation, physical and occupational therapists, speech therapists, neuropsychologists, nutritionists, nurses and recreational therapists. Working together, they deliver holistic care that maximizes each patient’s health and quality of life.

  • Physical and occupational therapy to relearn motor function and activities of daily living
