About Me

Dr. Teresa Such-Neibar is the Medical Director of the Pediatric Rehabilitation Program at Penn State Health Children's Hospital and Medical Director of Pediatric Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Program at Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital. She is a board-certified and fellowship trained Pediatric Rehabilitation Physiatrist and an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Prior to moving back to her home state of Pennsylvania, she completed her residency and fellowship at the University of Utah and practiced for 23 years in Salt Lake City, UT as the Medical Director of the Pediatric Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Program. While in Utah, she was awarded the “Physician of the Year Award” from Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT.

She has experience treating children with many diagnoses such as cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, spina bifida and any diagnoses that cause loss of function. She is especially excited to be collaborating with many great services such as pediatric neurosurgery and orthopedics for the treatment of complex spasticity patients, complex care and palliative care program for complex medication evaluations for the most complicated pediatric patients.

Advocacy and community service on a local, state and national level have been a central focus of her career. While in Utah, she served as the Board Chair of the Brain Injury Alliance of Utah, and was awarded the “Professional of the Year Award” along with the “Lifetime Achievement Award.” Currently she is the Medical Director of the Penn State ThinkFirst National Injury Prevention Foundation. Throughout her career, she has chaired various national committees with the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine, most recently being the Post Chair of the Advocacy Committee.
