Michael M. Mcdowell, MD

About Me

I am a fellowship-trained, board-certified pediatric neurosurgeon who performs skull base, spine, craniofacial and neurovascular surgery. I’m one of a small group of neurosurgeons who are fellowship-trained in both skull base and pediatric neurosurgery. As a member of the National Institutes of Health Chordoma Clinic and the Chordoma Foundation, I’m helping develop an understanding of these rare bone tumors that form in the skull base and spine.

My greatest reward is being able to follow the growth and success of my pediatric patients as they get older. In my free time, I enjoy running, Latin and ballroom dancing, theater and involvement in community organizations. I speak some Spanish.
