About Me

I am the director of thoracic radiation oncology at Penn State Cancer Institute and an assistant professor of radiation oncology at Penn State College of Medicine.

My interest in cancer care began at a young age due to my family experiences with cancer. We often left doctor appointments with even more questions about the diagnosis and what to expect. Now, as a physician, I make sure to provide clear, complete information to my patients and their families. I want them to understand their illness, treatment options and the possible risks and benefits.

I am committed to participating in work that will help us learn more about the best ways to treat and prevent cancer. I serve as the co-director of the Spine Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy program and am an active contributor to the Genitourinary Radiation Oncology program and research team. I’m proud to help improve survival and quality of life through clinical trials as a member of the NRG Oncology Lung Cancer and Genitourinary committees. NRG is a cancer research organization based in Philadelphia.

At Penn State College of Medicine, I serve as interim vice chair of diversity, equity and inclusion for the Department of Radiation Oncology. In this role, I work with others on projects to ensure equal access to care. I also teach medical students, residents and fellows. In addition to medicine, we discuss topics like how to deliver bad news with care and compassion.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, basketball and golf.
