About Me
I am a board-certified pediatric cardiac surgeon who specializes in both pediatric and adult congenital cardiac surgery. I care for patients of all ages, from newborns to older adults, who were born with heart conditions. I enjoy working with a team of Penn State Health specialists to provide the best path forward for each patient.
In addition to surgery for inherited conditions, I’m also trained in adult congenital cardiac surgery, adult and pediatric thoracic surgery, pediatric mechanical support, congenital heart transplant, minimally invasive cardiac procedures and redo operations – when patients need another heart procedure after a first surgery.
I understand that having surgery is stressful, and I believe open communication with patients, families and referring providers is an important part of patient care. Every patient deserves careful discussion before making a treatment decision. When surgery is needed, it is incredibly rewarding to help patients and their families through an operation and recovery with care and compassion.
Outside of work, my hobbies include hiking, skiing, boating, taking my dogs on walks and spending time with my family.
