About Me

Aaron R. Shedlock, MD grew up and attended high school just outside Pittsburgh PA, then participated in the Echols Scholar Honors Program at the University of Virginia (Chemistry and Psychology '07) and graduated medical school from Penn State College of Medicine in 2011. From 2011-2019, his wife's commitment to the Air Force took him to Washington DC (where he completed pediatric residency at Children's National Medical Center in 2014) and Las Vegas (where he was on faculty at UNLV). Along the way, he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa, Gold Humanism, and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Societies and was selected by his faculty/peers as most outstanding pediatric resident physician at graduation. He was also chosen by the 2016 UNLV graduating residency class as the Educator of the Year. Now returned to Penn State Health, Aaron continues to be interested in medical education and took over as pediatric residency program director in 2020. In this role, he oversees the recruitment, orientation, education, evaluation, training, and career development of pediatric resident physicians.
