Patient Preparation

No 'Over the Counter Drugs' for 10 days prior to blood draw. No nicotine or caffeine the morning of the blood draw.

Additional Test Information

Platelet aggregation results are made by the means of a light source and a photoelectric cell that detects a change in optical density of a certain concentration of platelets in plasma. Release of endogenous ATP is measured by luminescence. The platelets are subjected to different agonists and the response recorded.
