Specimen Tube Type TransportSpecimen transport medium (4F1G) is required. It can be obtained from the EM Lab, by calling extension 8245 between the hours of 8 AM and 4 PM or 8681 if no answer.

Specimen Preparation In HouseElectron Microscopy Specimens (Routine) - Specimen transport medium (4F1G) is required. It can be obtained from the EM Lab, by calling extension 8715 between the hours of 8 AM and 4 PM. Deliver specimens to the Surgical Pathology/Cytology refrigerator outside H2349 Neuropathology specimens for EM may include skin or rectal biopsies. Assistance or information concerning specimen collection is available from the Neuropath Lab at extension 8715. Blood and Bone Marrow specimens for EM. Please consult the Diagnostic EM Lab, room C7812, extension 8245 before proceeding.
