Specimen Tube Type Transport

Whole Blood = 3 mL in Sodium Heparin green top tube.

Bone marrow = 1-3 mL in Sodium Heparin green top tube.

CSF = 10 mL in syringe without needle or sterile container.

Fluids = 10-20 mL in sterile container or Sodium Heparin green top tubes.

Tissues = in RPMI1640 transport medium tubes (call Special Hematology 531-8559)

Container Whole Blood Required
