Serving patients with purpose

When Jatin Patel left his neighborhood market to join Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, he saw it as an opportunity to continue his passion of serving the community through food.

“I found my home in the Food Services Department,” says Jatin, who initially joined Hershey Medical Center as a patient dining associate. “I love interacting with patients and serving them. My goal is to help them feel safe and comforted during their time in the hospital. What better way to do that than with food?”

Now serving as a cafe site attendant for Au Bon Pain, Jatin remains committed to supporting patients in any way he can, often stepping in to help on patient floors when needed.

“I am grateful for every interaction I have with patients,” he says. “No matter what I am doing, I am motivated to keep going by the fact that everyone here is working together for the patients.”
