When patients call Penn State Health, the first voice they often hear is Cindy Rivera's. As a scheduler in the Call Center, she's more than just a voice, she's a source of reassurance, guidance and compassion.
“I try to be as compassionate with every patient who calls as I can possibly be,” she says.
Cindy takes great pride in scheduling appointments, answering patients’ questions and managing doctors’ calendars.
“I always try to remember the person at the other end of the phone. Sometimes, it just takes listening. I ask questions and try to relate to what they’re going through.”
