Hampden Medical Center's commitment to the West Shore community
From Carlisle to Camp Hill, Etters to Enola, Dillsburg to Duncannon , Penn State Health families and services call the West Shore home. When Hampden Medical Center opens Oct. 1, our friends and neighbors will be within 10 minutes of our primary care providers, 20 minutes of our specialty care services and 30 minutes of a Penn State Health acute care hospital.
As Penn State Health advances its commitment to providing residents of the West Shore with high-quality, comprehensive medical care, it also is dedicated to enhancing the vibrant Hampden Township community. The 300,000-square-foot, three-story acute care facility is being built into the landscape to take full advantage of the natural surroundings and minimize impact to the area’s noise, light and sightline standards.
Additionally, the project has already brought hundreds of jobs to the area during construction and for hospital operations. When it opens, the hospital will initially employ 650 people, with a planned increase over the first three years to about 1,000 employees.
