About Me
Laura Murphy, MD, graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. She completed her residency at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, where she stayed on as faculty. While at St. Christopher's, Dr. Murphy focused on medical education and the care of children with special health care needs. She was medical director for the special needs program in ambulatory pediatrics and worked closely with the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics to create a medical home for children with medical complexity. Since coming to Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Dr. Murphy has developed a complex care program for pediatric patients with multiple medical problems at Penn State Pediatrics. The complex care team attends to children with reliance on medical technology, such as G-tubes, trachs, etc., as a primary care medical home.
