About Me
Dan A. Galvan is an Assistant Professor of Surgery within the Division of Trauma, Acute Care and Critical Care Surgery. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University and University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Dr. Galvan is Board Certified in General Surgery with Added Qualifications in Surgical Critical Care. He is the Associate Director of the Surgery Clerkship at Penn State Hershey. He is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the Association for Surgical Educators. He has won numerous awards as an educator, leader, and mentor at Penn State Hershey and at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Amarillo where previously taught. Dr. Galvan was awarded the Penn State/Good Samaritan Hospital Family & Community Medicine Residency Program Teacher of the Year in June, 2010. Dr. Galvan and his wife Vanessa have five children and enjoy spending time as a family.Accepted Insurances
