Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center will bring acute inpatient medical services to communities in Cumberland, Perry, and York counties.  The facility, set to open in the Fall of 2021, will feature 108 private inpatient beds and an attached outpatient medical office building.  This is a unique opportunity to be part of opening a new hospital with a highly collaborative and team-oriented culture. 

 

This position will support both Penn State Health Holy Spirit Hospital as well as Hampden Medical Center.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Volunteer Services Coordinator works in cooperation with Medical Center leadership to determine the volunteer needs of the organization.  This individual will develop and maintain a strong volunteer program by creating and executing a plan to recruit, train, retain and support volunteers, as well as ensure that all volunteers complete the interviewing, screening and orientation requirements. 

 

In addition, they will maintain files on all volunteers, create and maintain a training plan, assign volunteers to positions commensurate with their skills and interests, and implement volunteer performance evaluations.  The Coordinator will also create and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program, establish written goals and develop a budget.  Looking for an enthusiastic team player that works effectively with both Medical Center leadership and volunteers, and possesses strong leadership ability. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Associates Degree

 

2-4 years of experience in a related field

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelors Degree preferred
