Virtual Design & Construction Technician - Penn State Health Planning

Hours:  8:00a - 5:00p




Responsible for maintaining accurate archival and current electronic drawings, floor plan files, GIS database, and space database for Penn State Health facilities and grounds including hospitals, administrative buildings, and campus infrastructure. Create and prepare design and working drawings including architectural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, etc. Update drawings and data in facilities management software system and produce reports. Develop graphic based drawings to support space planning and other studies.




Either (A) Associates degree in a CADD based technical program with 1 year experience with CADD based systems required or (B) 3 years of job related experience including 1 year experience with CADD based systems required.




Ability to measure buildings, rooms & site attributes required.

Ability to perform onsite investigations of conditions required.

Strong thought processing and follow through skills required.

Ability to understand final product required.

Ability to meet deadlines required.



Experience in healthcare construction preferred.

Experience with Architectural AutoCAD is preferred.

Experience with GIS preferred.
