Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is seeking a Vascular Sonographer to join our Heart and Vascular team and support exciting growth for our organization.
Our Vascular sonographer performs diagnostic studies utilizing duplex ultrasound technology, continuous wave Doppler and other noninvasive vascular assessment technologies.
This will include vascular diagnostic studies including extracranial cerebrovascular, intracranial cerebrovascular, peripheral venous, peripheral arterial and visceral vascular as well performing the Sonographer's component of therapeutic minimally invasive procedures such as pseudoaneurysm injection.
A critical member of the care team, our Vascular Sonographer will attend didactic sessions and laboratory staff meetings working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.
Participate in on-call service as required.
Two year formal ultrasound program and RVT eligibility required at time of hire.
If recent graduate (less than 6 months) certification required within 6 months of hire.
(OR) Current RVT through ARDMS with 2 years of experience in a dedicated vascular laboratory required.
BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
Experience in noninvasive vascular scanning in an accredited vascular lab preferred.
On-the-job experience is preferred but a 6-month clinical externship in a dedicated vascular laboratory setting is acceptable.
Able to sit & walk frequently; stand occasionally.
Able to lift 0-10 lbs constantly; 11-50 lbs occasionally.
Able to Carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally.
Able to push 0-10 lbs constantly; 11-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally.
Able to pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally.
Able to reach constantly; climb occasionally.
Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping.
