Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is actively seeking a Statistical Analyst to support Nursing Administration!
This Statistical Analyst will fully participate in driving quality and innovation. This individual will primarily be responsible for providing statistical assistance to the Department of Nursing for Institutional Review Board approved research studies and quality programs. This position works primarily within the Office of Nursing Research and Innovation and supports the Department of Nursing quality programs.
A critical role within the department of Nursing Administration, the individual selected will be tasked with design of statistical methods for research studies, application of statistical methods for patient quality & safety studies, interpretation of statistical analyses, design and programming of reports relevant to organizational goals studies, and analysis of data sources.
Our Statistical Analyst will serve on organizational quality/safety goals teams to advise them on sampling methodologies, statistical analysis and reporting. Lead appropriate teams as required.
As the expert in this area, the statistical analyst will present analyses as required to appropriate forums as well as lead discussions in inter-departmental organizational goals. This may include devising and executing educational development strategies for organizational goals teams to increase their understanding of statistical analysis in the selection of organizational patient quality/safety goals and in the measurement of success towards those goals.
Bachelor's Degree in Statistics or related field of study with 1 to 3 years of experience in statistical sampling, statistical analysis and reporting required.
Ability to communicate both in written and oral formats, and use mathematics to answer questions and solve problems required. Ability to apply statistical principles to sampling and analysis while efficiently and effectively making sense of and organizing information into meaningful patterns.
Experience with Biostatistics preferred

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of formulas, macros, conditional formatting, and pivot tables, required.
Familiarity with using programming languages (R, Python, etc.) for data manipulation, exploration, visualization, and automated reporting strongly preferred.
