Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and caring staff chaplain to join our exceptional Spiritual Care team! 

The staff chaplain ministers to the spiritual, psychological and emotional needs of patients, their families and staff. As members of multidisciplinary teams they participate in the healing process of the whole person. 

Supervised by the Director of Spiritual Care, the Staff Chaplain: 

- Provides pastoral/spiritual care to patients, their families, and staff. 

- Functions as part of a team of chaplains of diverse religious backgrounds. 

- Participates in 24/7 chaplain on-call rotation as scheduled 

- Shares in other departmental responsibilities as requested 

- Participates in ethical decision-making process with patients, families, and staff

Master's degree in Divinity or related field Ordained, Licensed, or Commissioned by recognized denomination or faith group Board-certification (APC, NACC, NAJC) or eligible for board certification


Capable of theological and spiritual reflections with persons. 

Excellent communication and pastoral/spiritual counseling skills. 

Flexibility, genuineness, sensitivity, and willingness to assist in other areas of spiritual/pastoral care duties. 

4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education from an ACPE accredited center. 

Sensitivity to diverse religious and cultural practices and values.
