Staff Chaplain - Chaplain Services - Penn State Health Holy Spirit
Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and caring staff chaplain to join our exceptional Spiritual Care team! The staff chaplain ministers to the spiritual, psychological and emotional needs of patients, their families and staff. As members of multidisciplinary teams they participate in the healing process of the whole person.
Supervised by the Director of Spiritual Care, the Staff Chaplain:
Initiate and respond to pastoral care requests for patients their loved ones, and staff, providing spiritual support at times of crisis.
Provide consultations and educational opportunities related to spiritual care of the staff.
Conduct spiritual assessments, attending to how existential and spiritual distress impacts plan of care.
Provide spiritual/religious rites and rituals for patients and their loved ones as needed.
Respond to emergency calls, including trauma alerts, resuscitations, and others as needed.
Interface collaboratively with members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide quality
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Master’s degree in Divinity or related field.
Board-certification (APC, NACC, NAJC or equivalent) or eligible for board certification.
Ordained, Licensed, or Commissioned by recognized denomination.
