JOB SUMMARY:

The Specialist Patient Safety is responsible to assess for patient safety issues, including investigation, cause analysis, and the associated improvement projects to advance patient safety and reduce risk. Manage a portfolio of patient safety projects, and monitor and evaluate clinical processes for the safe delivery of care. Present to hospital leadership and partner with clinical areas to improve patient safety. Educate caregivers and staff in patient safety sciences and methodologies. Drives initiatives using evidence-based standards of care and standardization of processes to improve the reliability of systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Bachelor's Degree in healthcare required 

3 years of clinical practice required 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: 

Excellent written and oral communication skills 

Knowledge of patient safety and quality improvement methodologies 

Ability to work independently and in a team environment 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Currently licensed to practice as a RN registered nurse by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners preferred

2 years of progressive leadership or project management experience preferred 

Certification in Patient Safety preferred
