This is a 12-bed unit where nurses care for adult patients undergoing short-term observation for conditions such as allergic reactions, asthma, cellulitis, chest pain, hyperglycemia, dehydration, seizures, pneumonia, and substance use disorder. Pediatric patients are observed for conditions such as croup, bronchiolitis, asthma, dehydration and accidental ingestion.
Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to a designated group of patients.
Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by State of employment
AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
