RN/Registered Nurse - Telemetry Care Unit 8 West - Penn State Health Holy Spirit

This a fast paced 29 bed, progressive care cardiopulmonary telemetry unit, serving the adult population with medically acute diagnosis. We are the only non-ICU unit in the hospital with the capability of caring for patients who are mechanically vented. We are the unit of choice for heart failure, sepsis, respiratory compromised situations requiring CPAP/Bipap, high flow oxygenation as well as multisystem compromised patients. We are trained in caring for complex IV drips requiring telemetry monitoring as well as general medicine cases such as renal failure and acute on chronic illnesses.

Summary of Position:

The RN Inpatient Nurse assesses patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. The inpatient Registered Nurse administers nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. The RN may advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention. The inpatient RN will maintain accurate, detailed reports and records and administer medications to patients while monitoring for reactions and side effects. The RN will monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.

Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.

BLS required prior to orientation completion.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Six months RN experience preferred.

Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
