RN/Registered Nurse – 7 East - Neuro/Trauma/Stroke - Penn State Health Holy Spirit

7 East is a fast paced 25 bed, progressive care telemetry/stroke/trauma unit, serving the adult population with multiple comorbidities along with acute cardiac, neurologic, neurosurgical and trauma related diagnosis. We are the only non-ICU unit in the hospital with the capability of caring for patients with stroke like signs/symptoms. Staff are trained to care for patients with complex IV drips requiring constant telemetry monitoring, assessing stroke patients using the NIH stroke scale, and caring for multiple system trauma patients.

The RN Registered Nurse assesses patient health problems and needs, develops and implements nursing care plans, and maintains medical records. Registered Nurses administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. RNs may advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention. Our nurses work closely with all levels of providers to ensure that our patients receive prompt, safe and efficient evidence-based care.

Per Diem Level II Requirements:

Work 48 hours in the 4 week schedule (12 hours scheduled each pay period)

Includes 24 hours worked on weekend (weekend defined as Friday 3pm – Monday 7am)

Work at least 2 holiday, one major, second major or minor

Second and third shift commitments are preferred!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by State of employment

AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
