Penn State Health’s Quality Systems Improvement team is seeking a Quality Improvement Advisor to join us in our mission to provide superior healthcare quality, safety, and operational outcomes.
As an integral partner to leaders, clinicians, and other team members, this position will design, develop and coordinate Quality Improvement (QI) and (PI) initiatives.
The Quality Improvement Advisor will manage projects and multidisciplinary teams, providing consultation and support for improvement initiatives in order to accomplish measurable quality outcomes. This position will employ a performance improvement methodology, tools and techniques in a clinical environment in order to achieve institutional goals. This will include interpreting and presenting quality and safety data with processing and analysis.
This individual will be assigned varying projects as organizational needs change, and will be involved closely throughout the whole process. The Quality Improvement Advisor will apply project planning and management to effectively meet outcome, time, and budget parameters, and will ensure institutional quality outcomes through leadership, curriculum development and stakeholder assessment.
As a change agent, the individual selected for this role will help to identify, prioritize, implement, and evaluate opportunities to improve organizational functions and systems, and will designate task forces to facilitate interdisciplinary, collaborative approaches to improving the quality of patient care and safety.

Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care, Engineering, Nursing, Performance Improvement or equivalent field required
2 years of experience in leading and/or participating in quality improvement initiatives, including project management experience
Must have experience providing formal and informal training to project teams on quality improvement tools
Green Belt Certification/training or equivalent required
Project Management certification/training or CPHQ certification or equivalent
Root Cause Analysis certification/training or equivalent required
Masters Degree preferred
Previous healthcare and/or clinical experience preferred, but we are open to individuals in other industries as well
Lean or Six Sigma Black Belt certification/training or Advanced IHI Model for Improvement preferred
